I graciously accepted the invitation to participate in the 2024 Ralph Murphy Songwriters ‘Mentor Cafe’ at @canadianmusicweek this Wednesday June 5th in Toronto, ON❤️🩵❤️

I wrote with Ralph before he passed. We had lunch, drank wine, spoke music and hung at his house with his wife. Of course I asked him to sign my personal copy of Murphy’s Laws Of Songwriting.❤️

It’s an honour to join Rudy Blair, Rosanne Baker Thornley, Ira Walker, Mikalyn, Quiet Love, Andrea England, Kyle Wilton and Jacky Levare at the @westinharbourcastle from 1:45pm-2:45pm to encourage and help shed light on the musical path for aspiring songwriters and artists❤️❤️

This past Friday I became the proud owner of an ASL WELCOME sign handcrafted by the super talented Justin @wren.workshop in Alliston, ON!!💯
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
So I’m scrolling on one of the (tr)apps, and I come across this “WELCOME” sign…but in Sign Language…next thing ya know I contact the artist who is a Canadian Deaf brother…I asked if he’d ship to Ontario to which he replies of course, or you can just pick it up in Alliston Ontario if you’re near enough and know where that is😊😊…I lived in Alliston as you all know and I’m always cuttin’ through there!
It was meant to be!✅

We chatted for a good little while…it was lovely to sign and connect…when I didn’t catch something…I caught it the second time around:) I met his beautiful family and it filled my heart right up. ASL is a blessing. Beautiful people are a blessing. Talent and using it to share is a blessing.

I’m so grateful for my teachers who were patient when I was learning ASL(American Sign Language) it’s opened up a whole new beautiful world.
I’m grateful for Justin and his talent and kindness!

I had just arrived with the couch which would be driven and placed another half kilometre into the farm field shortly after this shot was taken.

Rosanne brought end tables, lamps and throw cushions / blankets….and we had lights powered by a small battery generator placed behind the couch out of view.

We only took 5 takes as it was -40 that day in the 30 km winds.

And, “I love that you can’t hide who you are inside”, cuz it’s written on their face, everyone’s,…you just have to look into their eyes.

And then there’s Vera, who is absolutely beautiful as she interprets this heartfelt message.
